Aida Perez Olivares ended her battle with pancreatic cancer, and entered eternal life on Monday, August 4, 2014. She faced her illness with bravery, and continued to embrace life even when confronted with death.
Aida was born in Alice, Texas on November 15, 1937. After attending Alice High School, she graduated from Durham Business College, and later married her high school sweetheart, Joe, in 1958. Aida dedicated more than 25 years working in healthcare administration for Dr. Jorge Guerrero and Dr. Lewis Florence.
She was the matriarch of her family, devout Catholic, and avid career woman, yet made time for her other favorites; music, working in her garden, shopping, and watching the Ellen DeGeneres Show (because she loved to laugh).
Aida’s vivacious spirit is carried on by her husband, Joe, beloved children Joey, Deanna, David, and Hector, daughters-n-law Robin and Rachel, son-n-law John, 11 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and an extended family of relations and friends from every walk of life.
The Viewing will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, August 8 at Forest park Lawndale with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 9th at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Forest Park East.
The family wishes to thank Cornerstone Hospital Group, friend and physician Dr. Jorge Guerrero, and around-the-clock nurses for their ongoing care and compassion.
