

He graduated from Lamar High School and attended Texas A & M University and was a member of the Core. He joined the U.S. Navy and was on active duty for four years on the aircraft carrier, USS Oriskiny. Al also was a member of the Air National Guard for many years and later the Ace in the Hole group. He was also a member of Fair Haven Methodist Church and the American Legion. He retired from Daniel Industries.
Al was predeceased in death by his mother and father, George and Ida Hunt, and sister Wanda Poarch. He is survived by his wife, Dale and three children: Karen Naylor, Susan Mitchell and husband, Mitch, and Gary Hunt and wife, Michelle. He is survived by grandchildren, Amie Teague, and husband, Matt, Jamie Patton, and husband, Shephard, Christopher, and wife Rebecca and Maya Hunt. Three great grand children, Kate Teague, Maddox and Greyson Patton, also survive him.
Friends were cordially invited to a visitation with the family from five until seven o’clock in the evening on Thursday, the 11th of June, at Earthman Hunter’s Creek, located at 8303 Katy Freeway in Houston, where services were held in the chapel on Friday, the 12th of June at ten o'clock in the morning. Reverend Paul Thomasson of Fair Haven United Methodist Church officiated. Interment followed at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, where military honors were provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8790 Honor Guard.
