

Dr. Albert A. Norris, born July 21, 1927 in Walthan, TX, born to Albert Alfred Norris and Allie Fondren Norris, passed on to his next journey June 19, 2017. Dr. Norris spent his childhood in Edna, TX and graduated from Edna High School in 1944 and enlisted in the Navy and was honorably discharged at the end of WWII, he enrolled at the University of Houston. Upon completion of his undergraduate degree he was accepted to the University of Texas Dental School. Dr. Norris began his private practice in 1954 in the community of Northshore, retiring in 1995. His love and respect for his Norris Dental Center family was unequal.
Dr. Norris is preceded in death by his parents, sister Mildred, daughters Kathryn Jean Norris, Debroah Norris Glawe, granddaughter Desire Glawe, son-in-law Jon Glawe and stepson Mark Campbell. He is survived by his wife Linda, son John Norris (RoJean), daughter Beverly Moriatry, stepson Chad Campbell (Laura), step daughter Angela Buck (Greg), 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Among his honors Dr. Norris was a lifetime member and past president of the Optimist Club, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, lifetime member of the Texas Dental Association and founding member of the Museum of Medical Science.
Dr. Norris’ happiest times were spent with family, his practice, and his plane. His passion for flying had taken him from Alaska Salmon Fishing, exploring off beaten paths of Mexico and Central American countries, to the adventures of South America. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was a man of great of honor whose daily mantra was the golden rule; ‘and to never judge your fellow man and show respect to all.’ He was a truly kind, gentle and generous person who was his own man and never measured himself by any other.
The family dearly appreciates the loving care givers Elia, Leann, Monika, Tanika, Cynthia, Emily, Terry, and Mary. They made his final days much easier for him and his family.
A visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home (6900 Lawndale St., Houston, TX 77023) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 22 with funeral services to be held the following day, Friday, June 23 at 1 p.m. All are invited to a brief graveside service and/or may proceed to a special reception at Pappadeaux’s Restaurant, 12420 East Fwy., Houston, TX 77015.
