It is with great sadness that the family of Albert Ellis Szkody announces his passing on Thursday August 8, 2019 at the age of 71. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 28 years Dianna, his step- children, Dee Szkody husband Gene and Den Moore and wife Kimberly. He will also be fondly remembered by his 4 grandchildren Garrett, Ryan, Morgan and Katelin, his great grandchildren Karsyn, Brooklyn and Ryder. He will also be missed by his brothers Edward Szkody wife Sharman, Bruce Szkody wife Roxanne and Gene Szkody and wife Dee. He is predeceased by his father Edward Szkody, his mother Joanne Szkody and his sister Katie Wilkinson
Al was born in Detroit Michigan. He moved to Houston at an early age. He graduated from Lamar High School and attended the University of Houston. He spent 4 years in the Navy serving on a mine sweeper during the Vietnam war. His passion was buying and selling cars. He was in the car business for 42 years and recently retired. Al started to travel in his retirement which was his second passion. He and Dianna were vacationing in Ruidoso, New Mexico right before he passed away
A funeral service in memory of Al will be held on Monday August 19th at 10:30 a.m. (visitation is Sunday evening from 5 to 8) at the Heights Funeral Home 1317 Heights Blvd. Houston, TX 77008 with best friend Steve Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at the Houston National Cemetery 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
