I know Alex is at peace and that he is among us. But I am only the selfish human still here on Earth that wants her only baby. The sadness gets easier to carry but the pain has only grown stronger. I wish it would have been me so Alex could be here raising his son and loving his wife.

Michele & Alex-It's been 3 mos and 16 days since not only did you lose a son, but, my daughter Melanie & son Adrian, lost their little brother whom I know all 3 were very close since they were young and growing up together. Hondo also will always have a special place in my heart for all the times he went to see Melanie, before and after he left to serve his country in the Marines. I will especially remember how big a heart he had because he would call to see how Melanie was doing. I know Adrian will miss him even more as they had been so close since he'd finish his tour and had returned home. But now he's our own Marine Hero Guardian Angel & I know he will be with Melanie when she needs him the most. Being a mother myself, I cannot imagine the loss you two feel but I pray every day that God will get ya'll through the toughest times and know that Hondo is always looking out for you two. I know he loved ya'll more than you can imagine. One thing Hondo had was a heart of gold and love for his family. It's taken me this long to be able to say anything to you two because it tears me up just thinking of him being taken away from all of us who loved him so much. He is truly one of a kind, loving great man. My heart goes out to both of you and you will always be in my prayers.

Alex I am so sorry to hear that we have lost Hondo.   I pray that God's love gently comforts you, His mighty strength upholds you, and His merciful peace covers you.  Even at a time of unexpected sadness, love and memories endure . . . And they will stay with you all forever.  Take comfort in knowing that to be absent from this earth is to be present with the Lord. Where Hondo will wait patiently, for his loved ones to join him both in peace and tranquility.  He lives on in Xavier and all those that knew and loved him.

 There's something about death that makes us measure the value of life. When someone dear to us dies, we experience the agony of their loss and the joy of their gain. Knowing that we will see them again in heaven brings such comfort.  Jesus shared a parable that helps us understand what the kingdom of heaven is like. When a man found treasure hidden in the field, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all that he had and bought that field. The kingdom of heaven is to be treasured. The kingdom of heaven is worth being treasured.

Your most valued possession is the gift of eternal life that you received at the moment of your salvation! Death is not a wall to climb, but a bridge to cross. Jesus has made a way for you to face death with certainty and clarity.

Well done Alex! Your honor and integrity and service will always be remembered!  Ooorah!!

Let me first say how sorry I am for your loss. Alex was always such a great guy. I met him through my son and his friends. We've known him for many years I also had the pleasure of meeting his wife and child a couple of months ago while grocery shopping. I didn't know the deceased, saw this through a facebook friend.  My name is also Alex Segura, I'm 28 and have twins that are about to turn 1 yr old.  Seeing this made me feel very sad, I imagined myself and my family in this scenario and it hurts to try to feel what this would be like.  There's not any words that one can say that really help in this situation, but know that I'm going to love my kids extra hard because I was reminded of my mortality by your loss.
