Alicia F. Rivera

Alicia was born to Bernardo Fernandez Martinez and Leonor Fernandez de Chapa, April 11, 1935, in Reynosa, Tamps, Mexico. She married Miguel Vargas Rivera June 10, 1949, and they lived together in Reynosa, Tamps Mexico, Singapore, Malta, Lafayette, LA and retired in Houston, Texas. Together they raised 6 children.

She is survived by: Carlos Bernardo Rivera Fernandez (Luz Maria Serrano de Rivera), Adela R. Garcia (Juan F. Garcia), Miguel H. Rivera, Juan M. Rivera, Lourdes R. Monks (Joseph E Monks), Martha R. Silak (John Silak). She also leaves to cherish her memory 17 grandkids, 20 great grandkids and 20 nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Miguel V. Rivera; son, Miguelito Rivera.

She was devoted to her husband Miguel V. Rivera and her 6 children. She loved dearly all of her nieces and nephews. Her grandkids were a great pride and joy to her. Her hobbies included playing canasta and mahjong with friends and family. One of her favorite activities was shopping for bargains.

Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday Nov 17th, 2021, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, followed by a rosary and small service. Interment is scheduled for Thursday Nov 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023.
