Alton is preceded in death by his parents Wayman Lewis & Mary Viola Stokley and his brother, Wayman Lewis Stokley Jr. He leaves behind Gwen Stokley, his beloved wife of 40 years; a son, David Stokley and granddaughter Joyce; a daughter, Theresa Jatropulus and grandchildren, Philip, Isabella and great granddaughters, Camille, and Helena; her sister, Vera King; brothers, F.A. Stokley and wife Rosie, Herbert L. Stokley and wife Melonie, as well as numerous nieces,& nephews.
Visitation with the family was held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15th at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, where funeral services were held in the funeral home chapel at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16th. Graveside services and interment followed at 12:00 noon in Field Store Cemetery.
