Andrea J. Rivera

Andrea was born to Felix Juarez and Angela B. Rodriguez, November 30, 1937 in Cardenas, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. She married Ernesto V. Rivera in 1966, and they raised 3 children.

She is survived by: Son, Jose E. Rivera (Sheila M. Rivera), Daughter, Andrea Perez (Julio A. Perez), Son, Juan A. Rivera (Carolina Rivera). She also leaves to cherish her memory (Grandchildren) Sarah Medina (Cesar Medina), Joseph Darrehshoori (Cecilia Darrehshoori), Kristin Anderson (Bradley Anderson), Abraham Darrehshoori (Mayra Darrehshoori) and Alexxys C. Rivera.

She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Felix and Angela; Isabel Salazar (Sister), Maria Rodriguez Sister), Andres Rodriguez (Brother), Hermerejildo Rodriguez (Brother) and Elodia Trejo (Sister).

Andrea worked for 20 plus years and retired from Memorial Hermann Hospital in 2000.

Andrea had a love of plants and gardening. She was actively involved in the Legion of Mary at Blessed Sacrament Church in Houston, Texas for over 40 years. She visited the sick in hospitals and regularly made trips to Mexico ministering to the incarcerated in prisons, spreading the love of Jesus Christ.

A public visitation for Andrea will be held Monday, March 11, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A rosary will occur Monday, March 11, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023. A funeral mass will occur Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at External Service Location, 4015 Sherman St, Houston, TX 77003. A graveside service will occur Tuesday, March 12, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at External Service Location, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023.
