

Anna Wernil Baca was born on December 24th 1928 in Hoxie Texas to Henry Schroeder and Malinda Meiske. She was baptized at Wutchrich Hill Lutheran Church on February 24th, 1929 and named Anna Lou Ida Ella Schroeder after each of her godparents. Her Uncle Louie was her favorite uncle so she chose to go by the name Lou. She attended school in Thrall Texas and in 1946 married Clarence Wernli who preceded her in death in 1981. Lou and Clarence Wernli had four children Russell, Cheryl, Mark and Troy. In 1992 she fell in love with another Clarence and on a trip to Vegas became Mrs. Clarence Baca. After 23 years of marriage, Clarence survives her today at the age of 95. She is also survived by her children, sons Russell Wernli and his wife Joni, Mark Wernli and his wife Lee, Troy Wernli and his wife Karen and one daughter Cheryl Angell and her husband Steve. She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Russell Junior. Surviving grandchildren are 7 grandaughters and 3 grandsons. Her family extends to 8 great grandchildren: 4 great grandsons and 4 great granddaughters along with many friends and extended relatives.
Lou loved life and especially loved being with her family and hanging out with her friends. She worked at Midwest Beef, Jim Jamil’s, and Appletree in Houston, but spent most of her life as a homemaker. She was Lutheran by faith and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church at the time of her death. In lieu of flowers please consider a memorial to The Wounded Warriors or the charity of your choice.
