Anne was born September 10, 1933 to Roy (Pete) and Anne Hardy in Dallas, TX. She attended Highland Park High School and graduated from Austin College where she was president of Alpha Sorority. After graduation she moved to Big Spring, TX where she met and married James Robert Chaney. They had three sons, Robert, Roy and John. After her husband's retirement from American Petrofina they settled in Houston where she worked as a realtor and received her Brokers license. In 1990, with her husband Jim-Bob and son Roy, they established Camaro Concepts, Inc. where she worked every day up through March of 2014. Anne loved playing bridge, Blackjack and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
Anne was an active Republican, helping her cousin, Tom Luce, in his campaign for governor in 1990. Anne was the matriarch of her generation of the Hardy family. She was loyal & genuinely interested in all of the clan. She will be remembered for her constant, love, caring, and support of her family & friends.
Everywhere she went she always had her best friend Goldie at her side. Anne was always curious about life and that led her to explore every facet to the fullest. She never met a stranger and her “joie de vivre” led her all over the country in her travels and ultimately to her favorite spot, Paris, more than once. Those who knew her and loved her will miss her dearly, for her roles covered many from mother to grandmother, to leader, to teacher, to mentor, confidant and friend.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, her son Robert and her parents. She is survived by sons, Roy and wife Wanda, John and wife Kim, daughter-in-law Jereann, niece June Anne and grandchildren Corbin, Brittany, Jay, Justin and Holland and great grandchildren Dominic and Kylie, and numerous cousins.
