Devoted wife Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed peacefully with her family by her side on October 11th in Houston, Texas. Toni was preceded in death by her parents Dominic and Margaret Fiorelli, Brother Jim Fiorelli and husband of 50 years, Jerry Welsh.
Toni was born January 21, 1937 in Wilmington, Delaware. She graduated from St. Elizabeth Catholic School, after which, she met her husband during a USO dance. Toni moved to Texas with Jerry, settled and worked as a legal secretary in Midland, TX. After their son was born, they relocated to Houston, TX. She worked 30 plus years for a CPA firm, Langley, O’Grady and Assoc. before her retirement.
Toni was extremely active with charity work at numerous churches, organizations, and libraries. She was an avid collector of books, loved chocolate, and Beethoven. Her most treasured things were her friends and truly loved everyone she met. There were very few places you could go where she didn’t know someone or someone didn’t know her. She was also a lifelong member of the Houston Ballet, Symphony and Opera. She and Jerry loved going to Galveston where they spent nearly every weekend for over 20 years.
Toni was a gift to all who met her and will be missed greatly by many.
Left to cherish her memories are son, James Welsh, wife Gina, grandsons, Harrison, Caden, and Jacob, great-grandson Jace, and daughter in law, Jenny Abercrombie.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, October 25, 2024 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11740 Joan of Arc Drive in Houston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Cecilia Catholic Church for The Gathering Place or the Harris County Public Library.
