Art was such a dear friend and I cherish the memories I have of him when we were at the Hobby USO Lounge and the VFW.  My heartfelt condolences to his beautiful family.

Art was truly a representative of the greatest Generation. I was lucky enough to get to know Art over the last 25 years and am proud to say he gave me the book in which he wrote of his experiences during WWII as he escaped and evaded the German Army for many months after being shot down over enemy territory. We are loosing these great gentlemen  warriors to which we owe so much and who gave us our freedom to to do as we wish. I hope the world will never forget what these men sacrificed for our generation to enjoy the things that they could not.

My sincerest condolences to Walter's Family.  I always enjoyed his company.  He truly was a special man and uncle to Glen, Keith, Lisa, and Sean.  Without question, he led a very special life and impacted so many people within and outside his family.

Art and I retired from Schlumberger, he much earlier than I. I always referred to Art as Mister Schlumberger.
Art was a WWII Hero, a kind and gentle man and was a great friend to all.
Till we meet again...

My brother Walter has a special place in our hearts as we mourn his passing, because he was so genuine and kind.He is a tribute to the Mattson family. He was so loved by the Bob and Enid Plumb family, Mark, Dan,Bev,& Donna and their children.He has earned his place in heaven and will be so happy to be with Lucille.

Art's warm, beautiful smile will be missed by all at Holly Hall Christian Retirement Community.  His involvement with the daily program acitivities brought much joy, laughter to his neighbors.  I will treasure his autobiography that he gave me;   recall his love of his wife Lucille and daily reading of the Holy Bible. Art, I thank you for the honor of knowing you.  God Bless you!  Diane K. I met Art when I began to volunteer for the USO. He was such a gentleman and he told me about his WWII experiences and that he was writing about them. He was well-liked and to be around him one knew why.

Art was a true gentleman. I volunteered with him  at the USO on Wednesdays for many years. Art was a shining example of the  greatest  generation who loved God ,country and family above all things. I am sure he is soaring the heavens in his "Leaking Decon" and saluting the angels. I feel honored to know him. God bless the family and comfort you in the days ahead.

I am very proud & happy to have known Art. From the time we met at the USO at Hobby Airport, we became friends. I still remember the visit at his daughter's home where his sister was making kumquat jam and gave me a jar. Art was so proud of his Meyer Lemon tree and I still have his memoirs. God Bless you, Art. It has been a blessing to know you. Prayers for Art's family, for peace & comfort during this time.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.
