Laverne was born on October 8th, 1928 to Arthur David Ryman and Mary Ruth Ryman of Wadsworth, Texas. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Bay City High School in 1946. Laverne moved to Houston, Texas after graduating, where she completed business training. She worked for more than 40 years in Houston as an administrative assistant for several companies. After a 20+ year courtship, Laverne married George J. Lamb Jr. in 1980, and they lived together in Houston, Texas.
She is preceded in death by parents, Arthur and Mary Ryman; husband, George Lamb Jr.; sister, Ruth (Ryman) Spickler; brother, James Ryman; and several nieces and nephews.
Laverne leaves cherished memories with her many surviving nieces and nephews, too numerous to list here.
We hope you will join us in celebrating her life. Visitation and Services will be in the Chapel of Angels at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77023. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 10am to 11am. A Rosary and Funeral Service will be held following the visitation, at 11am. A Graveside Committal Service will follow the Funeral Service, at 12 noon.
