Leslie and David, I am so very sorry. I had no idea. My Christmas card to Barry came back this year. We talked last after mothers passing in 2019. He was such a good friend to my brother Antony and to mom.

Thoughts & Prayers.

We have been neighbors for many years and have had a lot of good times together. Always enjoyed Barry and he will be missed by Carl and I. Thoughts and prayers for the family during this difficult time.

My deepest sympathy to Barry's family.  He left us too soon but with some great memories which I have always stored away in my heart . His laugh for one and his friendship. My brother Jerry Barnes loved him and they had a close bond for years..so it was easy for me to become friends with Barry as well when he became Jerry's brother-in-law.  
 CRACKER JACK ! Thats the name Ryan Maurer and Chris Hergenreter gave Barry when I took them to his beach house one summer! He helped us have a great day.  Thats how I will remember him..full of love and life. Love to his family....  my family.

Barry and I have been best friends for 55 years.   We were friends with our wives too.  I was the last person to see and visit with him.  Barry was a proud Texan and Texas historian.  I was very close to his mother, aunts and uncles and was and remain uncle to Lea and Dale.  I could go on and on about him.  I will just tell one story.  Barry decided he would cook the bacon on one of our trips to the Guadalupe River.  He took an empty coffee can and stood the bacon up and sat it on the campfire. When he removed it, he not only burned his hands but the contents were unrecognizable black sticks in a coffee can full of hot grease.  Thankfully Cory or Shar cooked the eggs.  I wish I could share all my memories with Barry but there are just too many.   I will have those for the rest of my time and will miss him more than I can express.   He was my brother and I love him.

I met Barry through his brother, David.  Barry was one of those people that as soon as you met him, you felt comfortable with him and he felt comfortable with you.  Within just a very few minutes, you felt like you were friends. There didn't seem to be anything artificial about Barry. What you saw was what you got. Don't you wish we all were more like that. He had a very easy way of putting people at ease. And before you knew it, you and those around had a smiles on our faces. Barry you will be missed by so many.  Hopefully we will see each other again. 

Barry always brighten are days when he would come to our business. Always would laugh at my husbands terrible jokes. We retired almost a year ago and have not seen Barry but his memory will not fade from our hearts.
