Billie Mae Brewer, age 93, of Houston and Frisco, Texas, passed away on Feb. 16, 2025. She was born in Houston, Texas, on Sept. 4, 1931, to Ida Mae (Ferguson) and William Pentak. On Mar. 22, 1952, Billie married William Melvin (Mel) Brewer in Houston, Texas. Mel preceded Billie in death on Aug. 30, 1986, at age 59. Billie lived most of her life in Houston, Pearland and Frisco, Texas.
Billie graduated from Milby High School in 1949. She was an avid University of Houston and Houston Texans football fan and watched every Houston Astros baseball game. Billie traveled the world after retirement, often collecting fine art from her many trips abroad.
Billie worked her entire career at Shell Oil, where she was one of the highest-placed executive assistants.
Billie is survived by her nephew, William (Bill) Pentak and his wife, Jodie of Frisco, Texas, and niece, Elizabeth Budde Averill and her husband, Jerry of Kandern, Germany. She was preceded in death by her brother, William (Bill) Pentak of Houston and Frisco, Texas, who passed away on Feb. 18, 2024.
Billie trusted Jesus to reunite her with her beloved husband, Mel, whom she adored during 34 years of marriage.
She will be laid to rest at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery at 6900 Lawndale Street in Houston, Texas.
