

Bobby Dean Ridgeway, 82, passed away December 31, 2016, after a lengthy battle with prostate cancer. Born in Toro, Louisiana, Bobby also lived in Hornbeck and Hammond, Louisiana, and Beaumont, Wylie, and Houston, Texas.
Bobby worked in the supermarket and food service industry most of his adult life; his early career being a butcher and a market manager for Weingarten’s Food Stores. He later was a manager for Church’s and Jim Dandy Fried Chicken, Charlie’s Hamburgers, and retired as a food inspector for the state of Texas.
He was a civil war re-enactor for the 11th Texas Cavalry and loved listening to music, gardening, reading and helping and caring for others.
Bobby is survived by his siblings, Esteree Bishop, Herman Ridgeway, and Mary Ann James; his children, Evelyn Cater, Glenn Crosby I, and Angela Daniel; his grandchildren, Beverly Sprayberry, Debra Broussard, Hazel McAdams, Brenda and Michael Cater, Lisa Mott, Glenn Crosby II, Amanda Bell, Shylar and Sean Brooks, Andrew and Avery Daniel, and Michael and Rebecca Dildy; his great-grandchildren, Carrie Miller, Justin Hickman, Stephanie Conner, Tyler McAdams, Michael Cater, Glenn Colin Crosby, Joshua and Ashley Bell, Jason Hazel, Curtis, Zyran, Devon, and Tearra Brooks, Craig Bain, and Cara Kennedy; and his great-great-grandchildren, Corbin Miller, Carolyn Conner, Michael Gonzalez, Steven and Nathan Hazel, Mirrer, Patience, and Lux Bain, and Dylan, Aleena, and Clara Kennedy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys Marie Thomason Ridgeway, his second wife, Jacqueline Hand Ridgeway; his son, Danny Mott, son-in-law, JJ Cater, and great-grandson, Douglas Hickman.
The visitation is 5-8 p.m., Thursday, January 5. The funeral services begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 6. Both are at Heights Funeral Home in Houston, 1317 Heights Blvd, with Rev. Bill Kato officiating. Graveside services will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park North, 22271 US 59, in Porter. Reception to follow with light lunch at Sam B. Crawford Lodge, 20625 Lodge Rd, in New Caney.
