Carol May Gendrich

Carol May Gendrich (nee Scholler) age 97, of Houston, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2022 at her assisted living home. She was born on May 31, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Edward H. Scholler and Irene Scholler (nee Herrick). She was united in marriage to Gilbert Gendrich on May 10, 1958 at St. John de Nepomuc in Milwaukee, WI. She was a current member of St. Maximilian Kolbe in Houston, TX and a devout Catholic. Her hobbies included: bowling, canasta club, golfing, vacationing, watching game shows, country music, polka music, attending rodeos and festivals, and baking cookies. She had a passion for chocolate and ice cream and was convinced that they were the secret to her longevity.

Carol is survived by her children Helen (Larry) Grosskreuz, Donna (Russ) Clements and Michael Gendrich; grandchildren Ryan (Lauren) Grosskreuz and Sean (Erin) Grosskreuz; great-grandchildren Emma, Henry and Thomas; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward H. Scholler (1941) and Irene Scholler (1967); husband Gilbert Gendrich (1987); and brother Donald Scholler (2009).

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Earthman Resthaven (13102 North Fwy. Houston, TX 77060) from 5pm to 8pm with a rosary at 7pm. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at St. Maximilian Kolbe (10135 West Rd. Houston, TX 77064) at 10am followed by a Catholic funeral mass at 11am. Burial will follow immediately at Earthman Resthaven at 12:30pm.
