

Carolyn Schlobohm Cassels, born on November 26,1935, in Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025. A devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Carolyn lived a life defined by compassion, service, and an unwavering dedication to others.
Born to Louis Henry and Lynette Meyers, Carolyn spent much of her life in the Houston area, residing in Spring Branch, Hockley, and Spring, Texas. As a den mother, an Occupational Therapist, and later a Drug and Alcoholism Counselor and Director of Opportunity House, Carolyn devoted her life to healing and supporting others. Alongside her beloved husband Dave Cassels, she also brought joy to many as an outreach clown, spreading laughter and love wherever she went.
Carolyn was a gifted speaker, a pillar of strength, and a guiding light to those around her. She shared a rich and loving life with her first husband, John Schlobohm (deceased), and later with her husband Dave Cassels. Her spirit lives on in her children-Paul and his wife Debbie Schlobohm, Steven Schlobohm, and Jim and his wife Karen Schlobohm, her nine grandchildren-Willie, Kayla, Mason, David, Isaac, Rebecca, Heather, Jennifer and John, along with their spouses and eleven great grandchildren- Ava, William, Weston, Ariela, Ian, Theo, Maddox, Logan and Skylar. As the oldest of four, she was preceded in death by her siblings Harold and Louis Meyers, and Judith Staley.
Carolyn’s strength, guidance, love, patience, and positive outlook on life will continue to be a cornerstone for all who knew and loved her. She touched countless lives and left the world better than she found it. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
