Charles Eugene Crain, known to most as Charlie, passed away on January 23, 2015. Surviving to hold dear his memory are his wife, Ann, his sons, Charles and Brian, his daughter, Leigh, his brother, Joe, a loving extended family, and a fullest life's worth of friends and colleagues.
Charlie graduated at Rice University, Baker College, with the Class of 1955. He was an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers before going on to an illustrious career in chemical engineering with Shell, Tenneco, and Enterprise Products. After retiring in 2006, he continued to enjoy the comfort of family, the adventure of traveling the world, and, until very recently, the blessing of superb health.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, January 27 at Second Baptist Church, 6400 Woodway in Houston, in the Hankamer Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to a local charity of choice or to one of those institutions closest to Charlie's heart, which include Saint Agnes Academy, Rice University, and Second Baptist Church.
