Charlie McFarland Jr.

Charlie McFarland, Jr was born on April 10, 1964 in Winnsboro, Louisiana to Charlie Shaw, Sr. and Cleo Shaw. Charlie attended several schools in Chicago but graduated in 1982 from Phillis Wheatley High School in Houston, Texas. In the early 1980’s, Charlie dedicated himself to God. He attended Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor John S. Boykin. Not only was Charlie a dedicated member, he was a member of the Men’s Choir and the Deacon Board. Charlie was the father of two children that he loved dearly: Charlissia Charn’Ye McFarland and Charlie McFarland, III. Charlie was a constant father figure in the lives of Ronald Flanagan, Roderick Flanagan, and Mary Flanagan at an early age. During his nine year battle with cancer, Charlie met Priscilla Marie Jones. They shared a life together in which Charlie was a father figure for her children: India Jones, Markus Jones, Asia Jones, and Mark Jones, Jr. On June 12, 2016, Charlie went to go be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory: his mother, Cleo Shaw; two children, Charlissia Charn’Ye McFarland and Charlie McFarland, III; two sisters, Theresa McFarland and Alberta Shaw; 5 brothers, Willie McFarland, Otis McFarland, Abe McFarland, Douglas McFarland,Sr. , and Joseph Shaw. He also leaves behind a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers, and friends. Charlie joins in death: his father, Charlie Shaw, Sr.; two sisters, Nancy Faye McFarland and Barbara McFarland and one brother, Theodore Booker McFarland.
