Rev. Claudio Perez Sr., Age 94 went to see his Heavenly Father on November 19, 2025. Born October 29th, 1931 to Manuel and Ursula Perez in Houston, TX. He graduated from Concordia College Seward, Nebraska in 1955. He was first called to teach at Good Shepherd Lutheran School in McAllen, TX where he met the love of his life, Elisa Garza. They married in December of 1958.
In 1982, he enrolled in the Missouri Synod DCE Program and upon completion he accepted a call to become DCE at St. Lukes Lutheran Church Houston, TX. He served there for three years.
He later accepted a call to St. John Luthern for the same position and then enrolled in the colloquy program at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis to become a Pastor and graduated in November of 1995, to become Pastor at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Houston and served until 2004.
In November of 2004, he was called to Immanuel Lutheran Church in the Heights and worked there until he was no longer able.
His passion was to spend time with his family at our gatherings. Always providing the Bible Trivia to keep us on our toes! He loved Old Westerns and Big Band Music.
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elisa; his daughter Diana Ballard and husband Dennis, son Claude Perez Jr.; daughter Ruth Wagner and husband Kurt; and son Timothy and wife Marsha. He was also blessed with 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great- Grandchildren.
