Clemencia Lucia Hernandez was born 06/10/1956 and passed 12/05/2019. She joins her Parents Charles Albert Lamus and Maria Fanny Valderrama in Heaven. She is survived by Albert Hernandez, her Husband and Carlos Joseph Lamus, her brother and his family. She was born in Colombia and made her way to the United States in the early Sixties. She would end up graduating in the inaugural class of the Houston School for the Performing and Visual Arts in 1974. The time there would come full circle when she started work for the famed Alley Theatre Houston, years later. She became a United States Citizen in 1994 and was very proud of that. These statements in no way do Clem complete service. She was an amazing woman who made the world a better place by simply living. Her smile was infectious and there were only two types of people to Clem, friends and those to be. She was defined by the fact that deep down she was a sweet and beautiful soul. She was always ready with a kind word and a kind heart. Her laugh was always at the ready. She loved living and spending time with Albert for more than 31 years. From the simple coffee shop excursion to simply being home with him and their cat, Bet-C. She was a tremendous cook and the Holidays were always a favorite time for her. She enjoyed Volunteering during Thanksgiving. She enjoyed the family dinners during the days leading to Christmas. Her professional life was no less filling to her. She had spent many years working at the Alley Theater in Houston. It was to her, the dream job. She was constantly challenged there and always gave her all to her job. She enjoyed working in such a creative environment and attended plays there. She valued those around her there and throughout her life. She had many friends that she was thankful for and made her life better. In the end Clem’s legacy will be that enduring love and gentleness she approached life with. God Speed Clem, we’ll meet again. There will be a Celebration of Life at the Alley Theatre Houston on Monday, January 13th at 4:00 pm, in lieu of Flowers the family requests that any gifts be made to Clem’s preferred Charities: the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or The Paralyzed Veterans of America. These were two causes that were dearest to Clem. Thank you in advance.
