

"Syrup", the nickname given to her by her father, was the youngest girl of 7 siblings. She grew up in the Historic Third Ward, where she attended J.D. Ryan Middle School and Jack Yates Senior High School. Later she took courses at Houston Community College.
Connie professed her faith in Christ as a Child at Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church. She then later joined Fontaine First Baptist Church in the early 1970'
She met David White in 1962 and later married him in 1970, together they had 7 boys and 5 girls.
Connie started her professional career at Federal Reserve Bank, and later worked as a medical record coder until retirement in 2005. She enjoyed cooking, eating out, live music, and traveling.
Over the years she earned many nicknames; Diva, The Bird, Granny Gumbo.
Connie leaves to cherish her memory 2 siblings; Dorothy and James, 5 sons; Charles (Latonia), Broderick, David, Dezmond, Danny, 2 daughters; Amorie, Ollye, 20 plus grandchildren, 30 plus great grandchildren, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Rozelle and Beatrice Burnett, her husband David White ,her daughter Danita, her sister Olivia, and brothers; Norman, Robert, and Junior.
