Daniel Earl Smith, born October 6, 1953 to Edward and Josephine Smith in Tallahassee, Florida, passed away September 14, 2011 in Houston, Texas, with his family and friends by his side. Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his father, and is survived by his mother; son, Nathan Daniel Smith and fiancée, Vanessa Medina; Nathan’s mother, Jodi McCartney; brothers, Steve Smith and wife, Barbara, Tommy Smith and wife, Judy, Richard Smith and wife, Matil, and Bryan Smith and wife, Sabrina; numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Daniel worked most of his life as a journeyman electrician, a job he truly loved. He especially loved riding his motorcycle. He also loved the outdoors, fishing with his friends, camping, and hunting.
A memorial service celebrating his life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2011 in the Chapel of Heights Funeral Home.
