He is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Morales (sp. Chris Trevino), seven brothers - Fred, Joe, Hector, Oscar, Randy, Thomas, and Andy, two sisters - Gloria and Belinda, numerous nieces and nephews, his cat Walter, and his grandpups Pepper (Pepe) and Spunky (Woody).
David’s life was filled with telling dad jokes, playing poker, fishing, being his daughter’s #1 fan, and sitting at Table 1 at his family’s restaurant, Andy’s Home Cafe. He was always “workin’ real hard.” David had so many favorite nieces and nephews - he’d remind them (playfully) that they probably weren’t their parent’s favorite but maybe the second favorite. He’d hold up four fingers and say you were three years old, he’d be the first to support your school fundraiser, he’d even pick you up from school if you needed a ride. He was caring, supportive, consistent, and loyal. He meant so much for so many. He insisted on family sticking together and would barbecue anytime the family was celebrating. His departure is already felt immensely but his family finds comfort in knowing he’s probably playing poker in heaven or perhaps fishing in the sky.

“A Fallen Limb”
A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says,
“Grieve not for me.
Remember the best times,
The laughter, the song.
The good life I lived
While I was strong.
Continue my heritage,
I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely
The sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease,
My soul is at rest.
Remembering all,
How I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions,
No matter how small.
Go on with your life,
Don’t worry about falls
I miss you all dearly,
So keep up your chin.
Until the day comes
We’re together again.”
