I met David at the CUMC CAPS program. We have played cards and gone on the organized trips with other CAPS and CUMC friends. He was always so pleasant and fun to be around.I will miss him and I offer my sincere sympathy to all of his family.

David is the kindest person I have ever met, he always put others before himself.  I have known him most of my life.  As a child I would go to his family's home where our mothers cooked and visited together, David, 16 years older than I was always made me feel welcome.  He would play games, take me outside to play games at my level, go for walks and keep an eye on me while I climbed trees or played with other neighbor children.

During the 1980's, times were pretty rough.  My family had to move from my childhood home and as a consequence lost space for my most precious outdoor jungle gym.  This gym was not just a swing set, but ropes, parallel bars, rings, it was big: 14 feet tall and had a footprint of 18 feet by 18 feet.  I thought it would be lost forever.  I don't recall all of the details, but David disassembled the whole thing, carried to his home and reassembled it for me.

When I went over to their house for a visit, I had no idea until David walked me behind the house and showed me.  We played on it for hours.  I was overjoyed then and still touched today.  

David just wanted to create joy and truly cared about others.  We will miss you, David as I'm sure all those you have touched.

David was a caring person, always thought of others first.  He always called me on my birthday for 30 years and never missed a year.  God bless you and your family.  Suffer no more my dear friend and my God give your family peace.

David was a great friend growing up together at Cy Fair High.  We spent a lot of time hunting and riding our motor bikes. I have a vivid picture in my mind of this lanky teenager manhandling that tuba he played in the high school band.  But most of all I remember that infectious smile.  David was a gentle Soul and I am proud of him and our friendship.  Know that my prayers are with you in your time of grief.

We are saddened to hear of your loss, but pray for comfort & strength as the days pass until we see each other in God's presence.  I personally will miss seeing David at the Community Center each week.

I remember David from school and we rode the same bus (I lived off of FM529). He was a VERY sweet, kind guy. I'm glad to have known him. Sorry for the Rinn family's loss. -CF class of '72

David knew me and my family since I was born.  He has been like a brother to me all my life.  I remember visiting the Rinns and playing in the yard and running around the barn; playing the piano with David and Nora; playing cards (always); making peanut brittle; attempting to learn how to decorate cakes; sewing; etc...  I always had a wonderful time visiting the Rinns and David was always there enjoying it along with me.  

He was a very special person and I will always admire his determination.  When he was in college he needed some help with Calculus so we got out my old college Calculus books and we worked together until he got it down and passed with flying colors.  He never gave up on anything he set his mind to.  He was always learning about something and took very particular interest in photography and geneology.  He could remember dates like nobody's business.  

We all have known that David was very sick for sometime but it is still a shock that he is gone.  I will miss him deeply but I know that he is with the Lord and Nora playing the piano, singing hymns and playing cards to his hearts content.  All my love, Leah

I will miss David on our future C.U.M.C trips. He played Skipbo with us on our trip to the Grand Canyou and in New Orleans, he danced with me. What fun!

I met David when we went to the star of hope to help out at lunch.  He was so kind and helpful to me.  I then played Hearts with him and he taught me a lot.  I really got to know him on the Grand Canyon trip and we had a lot of fun together.  He taught me to look at people I originally didn't like in a different light.  What a guy!!  He will be missed. We loved playing Bridge with David. He was so very quick to learn any game and he was a joy to be around.

David was a 'regular' at CAPS at the Cypress United Methodist Church, where I met David and occasionally played at his table.  It was my pleasure to be beaten over and over again by David with his smile.  Please accept my sympathy at your loss and know he will be missed greatly at CAPS on Thursday mornings.
