

Debra was a graduate of Aldine High School, Class of 1977. After graduating she began her career as a Legal Assistant/ Secretary. She worked at various Law Firms in Downtown Houston, where she made many lifelong friends. Finally she retired from the U.S. Department of Justice, Bankruptcy Division Houston office.
She loved traveling and seeing the world by taking cruises with her husband and friends. She loved the beach, sunsets and listening to music especially if it was her favorites Elvis Presley or Brad Paisley. Debra was a true servant of the Lord. She was a member of Woodlands Church, where she enjoyed great Bible teaching and fellowship there. Family, Friends and her Bible Study group meant the world to Debra, she would do her best to keep in touch with them even during her year long battle with cancer.
Debra was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth B. Whitehorn. She is survived by her loving Husband Jeff Congram , who was by her side even until her last breath; granddaughter, Alana M. Congram; mother, Patricia A. Whitehorn; sisters, Donna Robert (Husband Rodney), Dianne Lawter (Husband Jack Lawter II); nephew, Jack Lawter III; nieces, Morgan Lawter, Kristin Kirk, Stephanie Puls (Husband Travis), great-nephew, Hayes Puls; great-niece, Whitley Puls; and numerous loving and caring aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A visitation for Debra will be held Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060. A graveside service will occur Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060.
