Dennis Melvin Kostich, of Wells, Texas passed away on Monday, November 20, 2023. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 20, 1948, to Melvin William Kostich and Helen Barbara Kostich. Dennis was a kind and gentle man who found his happiest days surfing in Redondo Beach, California on the Pacific Ocean where he resided as a teenager. When the family was transferred to Michigan in 1965, Dennis worked as a shoe salesman where he was a top performer, and he took great pride in making sure his customers had comfortable walking shoes. Sadly, in his late teens, Dennis was diagnosed with a mental illness and spent the rest of his years hospitalized. Although we are sad to see him leave this earth, we find peace in knowing that Dennis is free from the mental and physical pain he suffered and is now living his best life in heaven.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin W. Kostich and Helen B. Kostich and brother, Mark M. Kostich. He is survived by sisters Karen M. Thomas, Diane A. Mangum, and brother Melvin “Butch” Kostich. He is also survived by his nieces, Natalie M. Bonds, Ashley A. Danielson, Melanie M. Thomas, Shelby L. Thomas, and nephew Douglas M. Mangum.
A visitation for Dennis will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00PM at Earthman Resthaven, 13102 North Fwy, Houston, TX 77060, followed by a memorial service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
