Donald Lewis LaGesse

Donald Lewis LaGesse, 67-year-old native Houstonian, passed away peacefully April 21st after a brief illness. He is survived by his dearly loved partner Rhonda Hudson; by his sons with former wife, Lisa Bucklen LaGesse - Jeffrey Alan LaGesse and Michael Andrew LaGesse and his wife Makayla; sister Margaret and husband Mark Vander Voort, and sister Lori and husband Louis Cento. Don was “step-father” to Rhonda’s son Michael Hudson and wife Julia, and “step-Grandpa Don Don” to young boys Julian and Miles Hudson of California. Don was preceded in death by his parents Lewis Emil LaGesse and Aurelia Mary LaGesse.

Don graduated from Bellaire High School, studied engineering at the University of Houston, and recently retired from a long IT career in the petroleum industry. At Bellaire, Don participated in track, cross country, and in Key Club, where he made several life-long friends. Don was a loving companion, proud father, protective brother, and doting grandfather, gone too soon. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and he always enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. He and Rhonda loved culinary arts, fine wine, travel, dancing, and entertaining. Don also enjoyed favorite past-times working on his home and cars.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to favorite charities, or The Kate Alison Bronstein Memorial Scholarship Fund, baylor.scalefunder.com in Houston, Texas. A visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home & Cemetery, on Friday, April 28th, at 9:30 AM in the Colonial Chapel. Funeral Service will also be Friday, April 28th, 11:00 AM in the Colonial Chapel with Committal Service at 12:00. The reception for family and friends will be held in the Colonial Chapel at 1:00-3:00 PM following the Committal Service.
