Doris Luretta Dixon Cole 97, of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on December 9, 2015. Doris was born in Houston, Texas on December 2, 1918 to Elnora and Reverend C.D. Dixon. She graduated from Phillis Wheatley High School, The Municipal Training School for Nurses at Grady Hospital and Iona College. Doris worked as a Registered Nurse for over forty years. Doris was also a proud member of The Community Of Faith Church in Houston, Texas, Living Water Full Gospel Church in Riverhead, New York and RSVP of Suffolk County, New York. Doris is survived by Edwin Lewis Cole, Jr. 'Skip' (Son), Susan Carol Cole (Daughter), James W.E. Dixon (Brother), also loving Grandchildren Richard Hollis and Edwin Scott Harrison along with many Nieces and nephews and Great-grandchildren, Doris was predeceased by her loving husband of Thirty-nine years Edwin Lewis Cole, Elnora Dixon (Mother), Velma Montgomery Dixon (Stepmother), Reverend C.D. Dixon (Father), C.D. Dixon, II (Brother), Madie Odelle Dixon (Sister), Robert Irving Dixon, Sr. (Brother), Eunice V. Turner (Sister), and Erma Lee Dixon Johnson (Sister).
