Dorothy Jane Brast Fisher

Dorothy Jane Brast Fisher, a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend to many, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord in the early morning hours of September 26th at the age of 93 in her home of 71 years in Houston, Texas. Born on January 19, 1932 to Ervin and Norma Brast in Bellville, Texas, Dorothy led a full life that had a great impact on many souls.

Married to Floyd Fisher from 1948 until his passing in 2005, she was a devoted wife and loving mother to their four boys, Ronnie, Michael, Gary and Kenneth. In addition to being a wife and mother, she was also a faithful employee having gone to work at Pinemont bank in 1962, and working diligently until her retirement from Wells Fargo in 1998. Despite working full time, she still managed to keep a warm and inviting home, kindly welcoming all.

Dorothy was also a doting grandmother (memaw) to 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter. Dorothy found great joy in the company of her whole family, crocheting blankets and crafting, and attending her church with her friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Floyd, and her son Michael Wayne. She is survived by her sons Ronnie and wife, Julie Gary and Kenneth and wife, Jennifer. Her grandchildren, Shana and wife, Suzie Maxwell, Carri Ann and husband, John Kolojaco, Ryan and wife, Ana Laura, Shane and wife, Shianne, Katie and husband, James Loewe, Madelyn, Abby, Cecilia and Nicholas; her great grandchildren, Alex, Jason, Layne, Lily, Cayden, Amber, Alexis, Brantlee, Isabelle, Fisher, Saylor, Azariah, and Blue Riley; and her great great granddaughter Gabby. She is also survived by her brothers Calvin, Dan, Eldon, Harold, Jerry Dean, and her sister Pat.

A visitation will be held on October 9, 2025, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Oak Forest Baptist Church, located at 1700 W 43rd St, Houston, TX 77018. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Pastor Richard Walters, officiating.

Interment will follow in Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, Texas 77038.
