

Douglas Howard Wallace began his journey November 25, 1925 in Houston, Texas. The late Rev. Willie E. Wallace and Clemmie Teen Wallace were proud parents, ushering him through life instilling core principles that would carry him through the years. He was the eldest of six born to this union- Mildred Wallace- Evans (deceased) , Willie Wallace(deceased), Barbara Wallace- Walker (deceased), Clifton Wallace and J. Carlton Wallace. He accepted Christ at an early age. Douglas attended high school in the Houston Indepedent School District system prior to continuing his education at Texas Southern University where he left to serve his country during World War II in the Naval branch of the U.S. military.Douglas worked as a skilled machinist at Metallic Building Company in Houston, TX until he began his career with the City of Houston where he retired at. Through his matrimony to Janie Adams, Douglas fathered 5 children. He was a devouted husband and loving father to Robert Wayne Wallace, Madelyn Wallace- Allen, Sharon Wallace-Parish , Caryon Wallace- Patton and Kenneth Ray Wallace. His affinity for hunting and fishing landed him the endearing nick name " David Crocket". Douglas can be remembered as a man of humility and in ernest. Although he grew older , his youthful spirit remained. On Thursday, February 27, 2014, Douglas was called to be with his Heavenly Father; a call he answered prepared. He was preceded in death by his parents: Rev. Willie E. Wallace and Clemmie Teen Wallace, his siblings : Mildred Wallace- Evans , Willie Eugene Wallace and Barbara Wallace- Walker and his great grand daughter : Amber Strait. Douglas leaves to cherish his memory his wife Janie Wallace, his children: Robert Wayne Wallace (Casandra Wallace) of Idianapolis, Idiana, Madelyn Wallace-Allen (Neville Allen), Sharon Wallace-Parish (Albert Parish), Caryon Wallace-Patton and Kenneth Ray Wallace, his siblings: Clifton N. Wallace and J. Carlton Wallace (Dr. Anita P. Wallace), a brother-in-law : Charlie Walker, his sister-in-laws : Elizabeth Wallace and Johnie mae Griffin, his grandchildren: LaTonya Bryant (Steve Bryant), Yolanda Wallace , Sheila E. Wallace, Tiffany Wallace , Cedric Douglas Bishop III, Albert J. Parish . and Nikita L. Allen, his great- grandchildren: Howard Michael Wallace, Katherine Madelyn Biundo, Z'nae Michelle Mangum, Cameron Michael Brown, Erin William Biundo II., Ashlyn Bryant, Joshua & Jonathon Bryant, and Jazmine Bryant, and a host of nieces, nephews,cousins and great friends.
