The world lost a great husband, father, son, brother, and leader.
Edward Rodriguez was born in Houston, Texas on November 6th, 1972.
If you ask a hundred people who Edward Rodriguez was, they would all give you a different story. A disciple and avid lover of Jesus Christ. A devoted son, brother, and uncle. The world’s greatest husband and father. A loyal friend and neighbor. An honest and truthful soul. Our beloved hero.
Edward was all these things. Wherever he was there was life. His joys in life included his family, son, wife, music, dancing, cooking, and being together. He was a brilliant and very talented musician.
Edwards' love for music began very early with his father being the first to give him his first Gibson Explorer. He loved barbecuing and cooking for everyone, he found joy in pleasing others. He had a strong competitive streak he enjoyed playing football, basketball, spades, dominoes and of course music. His visions were great, and dreams were larger than life. His huge heart impacted everyone he knew.
Edward would say he attended the school of hard knocks and held a Masters degree in LOVE and graduated with honors in LIFE.
Edward was a skilled machine operator and driver by trade. Although he was very proud of his many accomplishments. If you asked Edward, his greatest accomplishment was being a father.
Edward met the love of his life Erica Rodriguez, in 1991 and went on to marry her in May of 1993. It was love at first sight. They birthed their one and only child Edward Matthew Rodriguez Jr. in June of 2010. Edward was the happiest father alive. He spent countless days and nights with his son. Teaching, laughing, playing, loving, and guiding him through his life.
His heart could not contain the amount of love and joy his son brought to his life.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents Fidencio and Cristella Rodriguez, sister Raquel Rodriguez and brother Fidencio Rodriguez Jr. He is survived by his wife Erica Rodriguez; son Edward Matthew Rodriguez Jr. brothers and sisters Mario Rodriguez, Sandra Rodriguez, Fabian Rodriguez, and Irene Rodriguez. Edward also had and loved all his many nieces and nephews.
