Elizabeth Hardin

Elizabeth Pearl Hardin, affectionately known as “Aunt Betsy” or “Nonnie” by those who loved her most, gained her angel wings on November 18, 2023, at the age of 94 years old. Born on February 24, 1929, in Benton, Arkansas, she was one of eight siblings, born to Charles and Alma Salley.

Elizabeth was a devout member of the Lutheran Church and was committed to Our Lord and Savior. Nonnie enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren.

She was preceded in death and is now reunited with her loving husband of 47 years, William “Sonny” Hardin. She is survived by her daughter Sheila Mason and husband Larry of Houston, her sister Dean Ashley and husband Vincent of Louisiana, and stepdaughter, Joy Derkowski of Spring with step-grandchildren Deann and Philip. Survivors also include her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly and prayed for daily.

Nonnie was adored by three grandchildren, Elizabeth Raska and husband Ricky, Christina Hartman and husband John, and Troy Mason and wife Christina. Nonnie was also blessed with four great- grandchildren, Madeline, Ryler, Emery, and Sebastian.

Elizabeth’s life was truly a blessing to us all, and her memories are the treasures we now hold for eternity.

A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale, Houston, TX 77023. A committal service will occur Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at External Service Location, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.
