LIFE EPITOME ELIZABETH Y. WILLIAMS 1948-2017 Elizabeth Yvonne Williams, adorningly known as “Babysister” and or “Bay,” born the 28th day of April 1948, departed this world to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, the 4th day of April 2017. Elizabeth was the second of three born to Van and Dorothy Williams in Houston, Texas. She grew up in Acres Homes, one of Houston’s historically known African American communities called Garden City Park. She accepted Christ during her early teens and was baptized at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. A.A. Lucas. “Babysister” graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1965 where she received many academic honors. Her pose and grace was admired amongst her peers when she was voted “Most Beautiful” by her senior class. She was a proud member of the National Honors Society, Business Club, and Student Council, as well as, Cadet Captain of the majorette team, the Debs, and Editor-in-chief of Carver’s year book. Her gift for being a leader was evident throughout her high school career. With her fearless drive and strong determination, she pursued a career in sales and joined Xerox Corporation in 1976. Her loved for people and knack for sales quickly moved her up the ranks to management. Awarded as the top sales manager consecutively for many years, her passion and dedication allowed her team the opportunities for continued success. After 30 years of commitment, she retired at the age of 58. After retirement she remained active in the community by volunteering her management expertise to her daughter’s financial firm. In her spare time Elizabeth was an avid reader and gardener. She loved flowers and took pride in her yard and often times would win “Yard of the Month.” The most important part of her life, however, was her family. In addition to being a loving partner, Elizabeth was a devoted mother to her only child, Christin. She was instrumental in the growth and development of her grandsons, Taurean and Sergio, Jr. “Bay” was their number one fan and could be seen rooting Taurean at his band concerts, basketball and football games. Elizabeth was the kind of person that if you met her once, she would have a lasting impression on you. The number of lives she touched and people she helped were numerous. The life she led was an inspiration to us all. On Tuesday, April 4, 2017, God dispatched his angels and spoke these words, “Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” (Matthew 25:23) and he welcomed Elizabeth home. Elizabeth was preceded by her sweetheart, Shadrick Stephens and her father, Van Williams. Left to mourn her passing is her loving daughter, Christin Kissentaner (Robert), grandsons Taurean Sales and Sergio Lopez, Jr., mother, Dorothy Williams, grandmother, Elizabeth Francis, sister, Ethel Harrison (James), brother, Van Williams, Jr. (Yolanda), niece, Whitney Harrison, great niece, Amari Williams, nephews, Christopher Williams (deceased), Derrick Williams and James Harrison, II., and great nephew, Duron Williams “Life Is Not Measured By the Number of Breaths We Take, But By the Memories That Take Our Breath Away.” Maya Angelou
