At a young age, Emilio faithfully served the Lord through ministering. His faith remained an important part of his life throughout the years, and he shared those beliefs with his children, family members, and loved ones through his guidance, love, and example.
Emilio was a hardworking man who spent many years as a machinist and later worked alongside his mother for many years at the Harvey Company before entering commercial construction. He took pride in providing for his family and in the work he did throughout his life.
He will be remembered as a loving father, proud grandfather, and strong provider who deeply cared for his family. Emilio was an honorable and prideful man who could be strict when needed, but also had a playful personality and a honery streak that those close to him will always remember. He had a loving heart and opened his life and home to others, proudly treating many as his own children.
Emilio loved music, especially oldies, and enjoyed mixing and DJing different types of music at home as a hobby. He also enjoyed spending time fishing, watching his favorite western shows, cheering on Houston sports as a proud Houstonian, and took great pride in his truck. These simple joys brought him peace and happiness throughout his life.
Emilio is preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert C. Alaniz and Pauline A. Garza; and his siblings Ruby Gonzalez, Gilbert Alaniz Jr., Fred Alaniz, Magdalena Alaniz, and Sylvia Alaniz.
He is survived by his children, Emilio Alaniz Jr., Michelle Alaniz, Brenda Alaniz, and Angela Alaniz; his adopted children Dennis Ramirez Jr., Denise Ramirez, Destiny Ramirez, Dalilah Ramirez, Daniel Ramirez, and Domnick Ramirez; his significant other, Diana Ramirez; his 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and his siblings Estella Baxter, Daniel Alaniz, Marin Alaniz, and Terri Alaniz Rodriguez; along with many extended family members and loved ones who will continue to honor his memory.
Emilio’s strength, love, guidance, and presence will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, hard work, family values, and unconditional love that will continue to live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all the lives he touched throughout the years. Though his family’s hearts are heavy with grief, they find comfort in the memories shared with him, the lessons he passed down, and the love he gave so freely. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him, loved him, and were blessed to call him family and friend.
The family sincerely appreciates all the love, prayers, support, and kindness shown during this difficult time.
