

He was born in 1947 in Columbia, Missouri.
Emmette, known as Bill, attended Boston College where he got his bachelor’s degree in philosophy of science. Following graduation from Boston College Bill he attended the University of Texas on a full scholarship and received his Ph.D. in philosophy of science. He remained at UT to earn his law degree. Later in life he received a Master of Law in environmental science at the University of Houston.
It was while attending UT in Austin that he met his wife, Imelda and they married in 1975. Their first child, Alyssa, was born in Austin in 1978. Subsequently, they moved to Houston where Bill began employment as attorney for the City of Houston. In 1980, Bill and Imelda were blessed with their second daughter Cristina, and in 1981 they were given the gift of their son, David.
Bill continued to work for the City of Houston as an attorney for over thirty years. Later in life he was also an adjunct philosophy professor at Houston Community College.
He loved the outdoors and animals. He enjoyed fishing, jogging, reading, philosophy, history, physics, and film. Bill also liked a rich variety of music, particularly classical and folk. Sports were also a big part of his life. He especially enjoyed following the Houston Rockets.
He was a wonderful husband and a man who truly enjoyed being a dad. Bill always put family first and spent as much time as he could with them. He taught his children everything he could, from sports and fishing to math and philosophy. He and Imelda gave priority to their childrens’ education, giving them the best opportunities available.
Bill also loved to laugh. He liked funny movies and TV shows. His laughter was so genuine and would consume his whole self.
Being a devout man of God, he put his faith into action by helping refugees seeking a better life in this country, contributing his time and talent to this effort.
Bill is survived by his wife, Imelda, and their children, Alyssa, Cristina, and David, his sister Virginia, and his brothers, James and Howard, and his grandchildren, Bella and Owen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmette and Mary Ann Beauchamp.
Bill Beauchamp was a great scholar, philosopher, husband, and dad. He was a wonderful man and his family will always be profoundly grateful for his presence and his love.
