Ernest Zepeda

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose presence brought strength, warmth, laughter, and love to all who knew him. He had a generous heart, always ready to lend a hand, share what he had, and take care of those around him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jovita; his parents, Candelario and Blasa; his sisters, Christina and Elsa; his daughter-in-law, Mary-Alice Zepeda; his niece, Eloise “Lulu”; his nephew, Marco and Carlos “C.J.”; his father-in-law, Porfirio; his mother-in-law, Evangelina; his brothers-in-law, Rigo and Oscar; and his sister-in-law, Rosa.

Ernest leaves behind a legacy of love to be cherished by his sons, James and Jason; his daughter-in-law, Annette; his daughter by love, Aysha Jaffer; and his beloved grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Jason “JJ”, and Sophia. He is also survived by his brother, Rudy; his sister, Dolores; his sisters-in-law, Linda, Diana, and Evangelina “Angie”; and his brothers-in-law, Gene, Daniel, Ismael, Une “David”, Jesse, Mario, and Carlos, along with countless loved ones that will miss his laugh, his advice, his cooking, and his Bloody Mary's.

Like a pebble cast into still water, the ripple of your life reached far beyond what words can express.

Dad.... we got a little greedy trying to keep you here as long as we could, but mom's waited long enough. We love you and you'll be forever in our hearts and deeply missed by everyone lucky enough to share a meal, a poker hand , a golf course, a beer, and a life with you. Probably not the poker hand.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, US, on May 7, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the Rosary at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, US, on May 7, 2026, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7250 Harrisburg Blvd, Houston, TX 77011, on May 8, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Committal Service at Forest Park Lawndale, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, TX 77023, US, on May 8, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:45 pm.
