Etelberto Zapata

He was born to Catarino Zapata and Taurina Orozco on May 20, 1949, in Refugio, Municipio Villa de Guadalupe, SLP, Mexico. Etelberto migrated to the US in the late 1970s with the goal to improve his and his family’s life. He was married to Maria del Carmen Alcazar thirty years, and they lived happily with their three children Erica, Lionel and Veronica Zapata in Houston, TX.

Etelberto was a loving, successful, hard-working man who devoted himself to his family and company. He shared his love, knowledge, wisdom and strength with all those around him. He enjoyed spending time with family, listening to live bands, dancing and travelling to Mexico. He lived a very active and productive life and reached out to help others.

Etelberto is survived by his wife: Maria del Carmen Zapata, Sons: Etelberto Jr., Elijah, Erasto, Lionel, Daughters: Valeria, Erica, Veronica, five grandchildren and Father: Catarino and Taurina Zapata, Sisters: Gloria Sandoval, Eliazar Garcia, Arabela Martinez.

Visitation will be held at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home from 5-9pm, with a rosary at 7:30pm on Monday, February 6, 2012.

Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 am on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 915 Zoe st., Houston, Texas 77020.

Interment following in the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
