

Florene Ellen Love, the daughter of Thomas and Flora Love, was born on January 20, 1933. She grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas with nine other siblings; she was the family's second eldest daughter. She attended Langston High School and gave birth to two daughters; Linda and Joyce Jones shortly after. She and her husband, Sylvester Jones Jr. relocated to Houston, Texas, at which point Marsha Jones was born.
She was a housekeeper, mother, friend, and companion to Leroy and Joy McCullough's family for over 50 years. In 2004, she was forced to retire due to health issues. She was always a member of the family.
She has been a member and mother of St. James Missionary Baptist Church for many years. During her retirement, she devoted her life to her family, church, and the community where she grew up. Most people know her as "Nunu”, and she has touched many people's hearts with her genuine love and kindness.
Those that preceded her ascension, her husband Sylvester Jones Jr., her two sisters, Wayleen Edwards and Virgina A. Tollette, her four brothers, Wille, Odell, Johnny Love, and Thomas Love Jr., and her granddaughter Tameka Ozan.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her two sisters, Gladys Wilson and Irene Price and her brother James Love. Her three daughters, Linda Prescott, Joyce Wilson (Darrel Wilson), Marsha Goodly (Wilfred Goodly), and her two sons Russell Jones (Cynthia Jones) and Arthur Jones (Brenda Jones). Her grandchildren, Jocelyn Hudson, Kim Lewis (Tiko Lewis), Uganda Vaughn, Shae Nicole Smith (Curtis Smith), Curtis Jones and Tyrone Williams (Mary Williams). Her great grandchildren, Christopher Prescott, Brittany Benavides (David Benavides), Emerald and Janaria Walker, Ashley and Derek Ray, Jordyn Lewis, Camille Ozan, Sydney and Syniaa Smith. And her great-great grandchildren, Derrick Ray the 3rd, Adien Ray, Aysia Busby, and Miles Benavides; and along with a host of relatives and friends. She was a strong and resilient woman who had an impact on the lives of those who met her.
She is recognized for her life as a matriarch and pillar of her family.
