Francis served proudly in the United States Navy as a Radar Man 2nd Class. He was wounded and rescued while manning two ships during the war. He retired from British Steel after working there for over 20 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Francis Kennedy Sr. and Callie Kennedy; brother-in-law, Bobby Collier and step-father, James B. Conley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jean Kennedy; children, Michael Louis Kennedy and wife Suphattra Kennedy, daughter Joy Erin Kennedy; sister, Barbara Jo Collier; nieces, Avis Clegg and husband Lanny, Dorcas Booth and husband Jesse; grandchildren, Kevin Michael Kennedy, Nicholas Luke Kennedy, Cierra Ashley Kennedy and step-granddaughter, Suphansa Sripodok.
