

He proudly served in the military for 15 years, building a strong foundation of discipline and honor. After retiring from the military, he earned his bachelor’s degree and began a second career with Mammoet, where he worked with pride and integrity for 20 years until his retirement.
Outside of his professional life, George found great joy in fishing — a pastime that brought him peace and created countless cherished memories with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Obdulia Martinez. He is survived by his devoted wife, Paula Martinez; his beloved children: Cruzita Carrillo, George Martinez Jr., Eric Martinez, Adrian Castillo, Phillip Martinez, and Rebecca Lichon; and many extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on July 12, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home & Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale St, Houston, TX 77023. Interment will take place on July 14, 2025, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am at Houston VA National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77038.

George will be remembered for his strength, his laughter, and the love he shared with everyone whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
