

Gilbert Mindiola, 77, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2014. He was born in Houston, Texas, grew up in the Sunset Heights and graduated from Reagan High School in 1956. After high school he followed his father’s profession and became a baker. Gilbert’s passions were dancing and playing poker. He loved being with his family, but especially loved golf as evidenced by a hole in one. He also was a devoted fan of the Houston Texans, Rockets and Astros. Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents, Tatcho and Hortensia Mindiola, brother Mondo and son David. He is survived by his son Anthony, daughter Sylvia Salinas, husband Joe, brothers Tatcho, Jr., wife Cindy, Robert, wife Irma, Ronnie, wife Cathy, sister Dolores Reagan, husband Jack, grandchildren, Monica, Melanie, David, Nicholas, Gino, Aurora, Reina, great grandchildren Jay, David III and numerous nephews and nieces including Mona Mindiola-Kocurek who lovingly assisted with his care. Visitation at Heights Funeral Home from 5 pm-8pm with Rosary at 7 pm, Thursday, December 4th. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church, 1920 Marion Street, at 10 am Friday, December 5th. The Rite of Committal will follow at Historic Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 North Main
