Gilbert C Sarabia

Gilbert C. Sarabia Sr. was born January 17, 1924 in Seguin, TX and passed away on March 28, 2016 at the age of 92. He was preceded in death by 5 siblings; Elvira Rico, Eloisa Reyes, Janie Zamora, Antonio Sarabia, and John Sarabia. He leaves behind many loved ones to cherish his memory including his wife of 72 years, Ninfa R. Sarabia, 5 children; Stella Rodriguez (and Santos), Gilbert R. Sarabia, Nancy Hinojosa, Tina Sarabia (and David), and Linda Sarabia (and Carlos), his 8 grandchildren; Santos Rodriguez Jr., Steven Rodriguez, Sandie Garcia, Gisell Ortega, Ryan Sarabia, Marcus Hinojosa, Monica Hinojosa, and Amy Davis, as well as numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Gilbert worked tirelessly to provide for his family and liked to enjoy his time off by fishing, watching baseball games, and gambling. He was a decorated soldier who served during World War II and received the Silver Star. Gilbert lived a life to be remembered and honored. Visitation hours will be from 5:00pm-9:00pm Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 8:00am-9:00pm Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, and 8:00am-10:00am Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. Phillip of Jesus Catholic Church. A Funeral Service will take place 11:00am Friday, April 1, 2016 at St. Phillip of Jesus Catholic Church with a graveside service and burial to follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
