Born and raised in Pasadena, Texas, Glenna was named in honor of her great aunt. She was an officer in Rainbow Girls growing up. She proudly followed in the footsteps of her parents, Edgar and Greta Wilbanks, by becoming an educator. She earned her degree from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville and devoted her life to teaching. While she taught elementary school for several years, her greatest joy was working with preschool children, whose laughter and curiosity brought her immense happiness.
Having grown up an only child, Glenna surrounded herself with dear friends whom she cherished as sisters. Throughout her life, she gathered many “sisters of the heart,” women who loved her deeply and stood with her through every season.
Glenna loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them—whether during holidays, vacations, or simply hanging out together. She especially cherished any time that included relaxing and laughing with loved ones over a margarita.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Harry G. Morgan, Donald R. Shelton, and the father of her children, John L. McFerrin.
Glenna is survived by her son, Chris McFerrin, and his fiancée, Ann Albright; her daughter, Colleen Snodgrass, and husband, Scott; her grandson, Dylan Baldwin; as well as a wide circle of beloved friends who were truly like family.
A lifelong lover of adventure, Glenna delighted in traveling and treasured every vacation she took. She rarely missed a chance to cheer on her grandson, Dylan, whether in baseball, basketball, or football, often watching from home but always as his biggest fan. Together, the two of them proudly supported their hometown teams, enthusiastically cheering for the Astros, Rockets, Texans, and Aggie football.
Creative to her core, Glenna loved crafts of all kinds. Sewing, making jewelry, designing shirts, and embellishing anything with glitter or sparkle brought her joy. Her bright, sparkling personality showed up in everything she made.
In her later years, Glenna developed a deep love for Elvis Presley. She attended countless Elvis tribute artists’ performances, took trips with her best friend to celebrate Elvis Week in Memphis, and visited Graceland—embracing a passion she once thought was “too wild” in her youth.
To everyone who knew her, Glenna was lovingly known as “Mom” and “Granny.” She greeted all with a warm hug, offered unwavering encouragement, and made every person feel cherished. Her kindness, humor, and generous spirit touched countless lives.
Glenna’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, her many friends, and all who were blessed to know her.
Following the graveside service, friends and family are invited for food and fellowship.
