She was a member of El Tabernáculo Assembly of God Church where she taught Sunday school, played the organ in the church band, and led and sang in the women’s choir. Her dedication to children was noted in a student’s letter to A/G headquarters where she received the National Sunday School Teacher of the Year award. Gloria’s passion extended to animals. She was known for rescuing and rehoming abandoned puppies and kittens. Gloria taught 7th and 8th graders in AISD for many years while raising four children. Gloria retired at age 75.
Gloria’s goodness and wisdom were transmitted to her family in her words, actions, and many phone calls. Her legacy of faith and goodness will always be with them.
