Gloria L. Irle was born in Tonkawa, Oklahoma on January 7, 1933, to parents Ray and Eve Fry. She passed away peacefully in Houston, Texas on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the age of 85.

Gloria worked as an office administrator most of her adult life. She enjoyed taking care of her animals and spending time with her family.

Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Eve Fry; husband, Duane Irle; sister, Beverly Owen; niece, Lauren Owen and nephew, Kelly Owen. She leaves behind her sons, Mitchell Pope, Michael Dowdy and Martin Dowdy, all of Houston; grandsons, David Carmichael of Seattle, Washington, Lucas Dowdy of Lubbock, Texas; her brother, Roger N. Fry of Garland, Texas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.

Gloria will be fondly remembered as a kind and gentle lady who had a love for everyone.

To honor this wonderful woman’s life, the family will have a visitation on Monday, April 9th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston, where funeral services will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, April 10th at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Robert P. Goolsby of St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations being made in Gloria’s name, to any local animal shelter.
