Gregory, aka “Dodie”, was born on July 4, 1980, in Houston, Texas to Charles and Linda Rideau. At a very early age, Gregory accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He graduated from Jack Yates High School in 1998.
He later united in marriage to Shameka Williams and to this union a daughter was born, Dameriyah aka “Meme”. And his bonus daughter Shaniyah completed the family.
Gregory was a person full of life. He loved to laugh and definitely, LOVED to talk. He, along with his brother and baby sister, loved the latest fashion and coordinating his shirt with his shoes while wearing his starched jeans. When he was younger, he was our energetic break dancer. He loved riding the bike and running around outside sweating like he was in a swimming pool. We were blessed to have him for 43 years. He fought a good fight until he peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home surrounded by family at St. Luke’s Hospital on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 1:05pm.
Gregory is preceded in death by his father Charles Ray Rideau, Sr., brother Charles Ray Rideau, Jr., paternal grandparents, Otis and Louise Rideau, uncles Freddie, Charles, Lionel, and John Otis (Sunny) Rideau, aunts Jessie Mae, Jessie Rose, and Jeannette Rideau, maternal grandmother Ella Mae Edwards, aunt Elizabeth Stoute Reed, uncles John Stoute, Paul and Warren (T-Owl) Edwards, and cousins Josie Mae and Johnny Comeaux.
Cherishing Gregory’s most precious and unforgettable memories are his wife Shameka Rideau of Houston, Tx, mother Linda Rideau of Houston, Tx, daughters Dameriyah and Shaniyah of Houston, Tx, sisters Anasthia Stoute Harris (Henry) of Grayson, Ga, Alesha Stoute-Ina (Keith) of Houston, Tx, nieces Bria Harris of Grayson, Ga, Kiandria Ina of Houston, Tx, Arbriyana Rideau (Godchild) of Houston, Tx, nephews Jermaine Harris (Sabrina) of Crestview, FL, Cory Rideau of Houston, Tx, Brandon Ina (Kenesha) of Houston, Tx, two great nieces Zariah Harris of Grayson, Ga, Malia Harris of Crestview, FL, mother- in- law Lois Williams of Houston, Tx, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
