Helen Margaret Venard Donaghe passed from this life on February 18, 2013 at the tender age of 95. She is survived by her son, Robert and daughter-in-law, Sandra; granddaughters, Maureen Wheeler and husband Will, and Colleen Hicks and husband, Corby; great-grandchildren, Samantha and Austin Wheeler, and soon to be born baby Hicks.
Helen was born January 14, 1918 to Edwin E. Venard and Bessie Knight Venard in Tonganoxie, Kansas, graduated nursing school in Kansas City, KS in 1939, and was married to Vernon V. ”RED” Donaghe on January 3, 1940. Helen served as the secretary treasurer of Texas Sheet Metal Inc. and Texas Metal Service Inc. from 1953 until 1986.
Throughout her life she gave unwavering support to her family and friends as a nurse, mentor, teacher, and caregiver. Helen and Red were an exceptional couple, they complimented each other thru 73 years of marriage and now they are together again.
