Hilmer David Fritsch

Visitation with family present will be on Wednesday, March 9th between 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, Texas 77076. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 10th at 11:00 am at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home.

Hilmer was born on February 5,1942 in Halletsville, Texas to parents Hilmer Otto Fritsch and Ellie Marie Jansky Fritsch. He graduated from St. Thomas High in Houston, Texas in 1960. Most young men at his age made the decision to enlist and serve their country. He served in the US Army from 1962-1964. After serving in the army, he returned home to Houston and started his career in the Paint Manufacturing Industry where he worked for PPG and Devon as the Production Manager/Shift Supervisor for over 46 years.

Hilmer was a great family man and a loving father. He married Dorothy Ann Shelly in 1980.

He enjoyed bowling in his younger years. He competed in a weekly league and many tournaments. He enjoyed working jig saw puzzles, playing solitaire and dominoes. He had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening and canning his vegetables. His family and friends will always remember him as a caring, loving and hard-working man.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Hilmer & Ellie Marie (Jansky) Fritsch and his infant brother. The family was most excited for the reunion that occurred when he went to heaven. Hilmer was able to meet his mother and brother. His twin brother died the day he was born, and his mother passed away the day after his birth. Hilmer was raised by his father and loving aunts.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Dorothy Ann of Houston, Texas; his daughters Dawn Jackson of Pearland, Texas and Christie & Rodney Havemann of Caldwell, Texas; grandsons Nick Havemann of Caldwell, Texas and Colby Havemann of Orlando, Florida.
